An exceptional experience, in every aspect. The team and location are wonderful.The program enables each individual to get as much as they need, whilst being supported physically and emotionally throughout their personal journey.Yoga, mindfulness, meditation, educational talks, healing and traditional therapies are available and I highly recommend that you take advantage - as the quality is exceptional.I will be recommending to friends and family as the program really is transformational.

Feeling very blessed as the people on the retreat were so lovely, friendly, caring and positive. Sho, Jo, Bex and all the therapists were so knowledgeable and amazing.I loved Sho”s yoga each morning, even when I was shaky, queasy and felt awful the yoga made me feel so much better🙏🏻 Jo”s meditation in the afternoon was so relaxing. I found it challenging this year as felt so rough, but persevered ! Feeling very proud and feeling so much better at the end of the retreat. Also lost 8 lbs which is a bonus. Thank you so much for a very much needed detox and retreat. I will be back❤️❤️

I booked a week juice/water fast to lose a few pounds and prove I could last a week without alcohol. What I actually experienced was a total body and mind workout and leave feeling full of optimism and energy. Sho and the team are just amazing and fellow guests soon become a close knit group and in some cases, lifetime friends. I would recommend Karuna Detox Retreat to anyone that wants some time out from day to day life and to press the body reset button. Accomodation at Newhouse Farm is also 5 Star and cannot fault in any way.

This was all I hoped for and more. I’ve met some amazing people and learned a lot from them all. This is such a beautiful place and a gentle and supportive environment. I feel I’ve reunited with my body and the Earth and am full of enthusiasm for embracing a much ‘cleaner’ and healthier lifestyle.

Karuna has changed my life!!!!!! For the past 3 years I have been trying to find a glimmer of hope to get back on my health routine and feel like myself again after having a baby and for some reason nothing worked, I wasn’t motivated to move my body and I couldn’t stay consistent with any lifestyle change. I left Karuna a brand new woman and since coming back home I haven’t looked back. I feel a complete energy shift in myself that I can not explain. I could say, ‘this is amazing’, ‘wonderful’, ‘life changing’, ‘best thing I’ve ever done’ and although true, doesn’t really give a true insight into the magic of Karuna.If I had one wish it would be that every human on this planet could experience this process at least once in their lifetime.We really all are sleeping through a growing epidemic of disease and self destruction on both a physical and psychological level.Sho and her powerful and loving team show us a way to navigate through the thorny labyrinths of the toxic prison we live in. I have just got back from my 2nd detox at the Karuna Detox Retreat. My goodness what an experience, I feel like I’m on top of the world again. I've been twice in Karuna Detox retreat and I always get what I was expecting - I leave not just physically lighter but also mentally. I always learn new things that I can use in my everyday life. But the best: I feel safe, respected, cared and loved for a full week! This was my first ever detox. I researched a lot of detox retreats before I booked Karunadetox. I certainly was not disappointed. Sho and her lovely team were very professional. I had the opportunity to do yoga and meditation every day. The detox was well supported by Sho and her team. Brilliant swimming pool which I used everyday. I meet some lovely like minded people like myself there. Sho has a wealth of knowledge. I found her talks very informative. I have come away with the tools to help me to live a more healthier life style. When our detox was over, we had a fantastic feast. The brilliant chef demonstrated how to make tasty plant based meals. My experience at Karunadetox was absolutely great. I would certainly book with them again!

I decided to come on a Karuna detox retreat because I was in a very bad place emotionally and it was starting to take its toll on my physical health too. I had no idea what to expect and was nervous about spending a week with a group of people that I had never met before.....I needn't have worried, this was one of the most life changing experiences I've ever had. From start to finish, Sho and the team were utterly fantastic, they were supportive, knowledgeable and passionate, I couldn't have asked for a more lovely group of people to help see me through the process.And what an inspirational bunch of fellow detoxes there were!! I will miss each and everyone of them…. we were the perfect team!! At times the detox was tough, but we all had each other, which made the world of difference. I have made some friends for life this week.I've come away feeling recharged, refreshed and with a renewed sense of joy for life.I will definitely be back again sometime in the future.Laura xx

This has been one of the best weeks of my life. Its a revolutionary way to relax unwind in a beautiful setting and at the same time give your mind body and soul a complete detox. The team here go above and beyond to provide an experience which is profoundly nourishing and nurturing. The care and attention to every single aspect of your time at Karuna feels lovingly and thoughtfully created. The talks about nutrition and wellbeing are informative and enlightening, the yoga is relaxing and grounding and the detox itself will impact you and your body in ways you could never imagine. The community spirit of my fellow detoxers was a huge part of the experience - by the end once the gourmet raw food feast begins there is so much love and compassion in the room for one another that that itself feels like the feast one of community, love and humanhood.During one of the gentle daily walks I went on with two new friends we lay in the sun and gazed at the clouds. As always Sho and the team are magnificent.The structure of the week means it does go quickly , much quicker than you imagine a week going by.I get a lot out of the talks even tho I’ve been four times, I love the handouts they give me reminders of things that I’ve maybe forgotten.Sho is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to health and nutrition., she’s also very much hands on as is Jo so if you’re struggling you can just reach out for that support.Jo held the whole group together and led beautifully, nourishing meditation daily, she is also just delicious as a person and so beautiful and caring .Kathy provides all of your juices , broths and finally food….. whoop whoopKathy has wealth of healthy eating knowledge and speaks so beautifully about all of the food you literally feel so relaxed when she’s speaking.The support here is wonderful, you just don’t feel like you’re doing this on your own…. Positively a life changing retreat..I was struggling to get pregnant and needed to take a break from it all and do something different for myself. This detox programme was exactly what I needed. It wasn’t easy as the toxins started leaving my body (day 2 and 3) but Sho and team were very supportive and helped me through. It was so worth it. By the end of the programme I was renewed mentally, emotionally and physically. I returned home feeling amazing. A couple of months later I found out that I was pregnant with my first baby!

Expect a rollercoaster journey of self love, supported by an incredible team and a diverse group of like minded people all bonded together in a common goal and you have a week with Karuna. Sho is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, the treatments on offer are all excellent and the nutrition provided by Kathy is exceptional. Jo’s warmth adds another layer of support. The venue works well. Our cottage was very clean, warm and well kept. My only advice is to take a mattress topper with you. The mattresses are brutally hard, especially for whilst detoxing.Thank you team Karuna for an incredible week, one I hope to repeat..

Life changing, A Gentle Breath of Air!Shoshana and the team are no word of a lie, miracle workers. Their informed guidance, support and help during fasting helps immensely. The morning yoga is amazing, Shoshana is wonderful teacher, and the meditation takes you to a different level in your head-space. The atmosphere which unfolds during your week, is nurturing, respectful and safe, you can participate as much or as little as you feel able to, confident knowing the team are there for you. The groups are supporting and I guarantee you will surprise yourself as we all did, how deep “the kindness of strangers” is and how you will bond and share. From the toughest of big men, to the young, the old, any size n shape. It’s a well needed breath of air, filling your lungs, body and mind with so much nourishment. A wonderful experience. People come here with a huge variety of questions, worries, wants and needs and somehow in the course of a week, with the help of Sho and one’s fellow travellers, some decisions are made, some foundations for future living are found, and you emerge with a sense of peace and energy and a new direction. For me the physical side of the experience was less profound than the emotional awakening, although no doubt the former enabled and sustained the latter. A great spirit of comraderie and support.

This is the best gift you could ever give to yourself.Life can be so demanding at times, this retreat is away of giving back to yourself and pressing the reset button, calming the mind and listening to your body and the best bit it continues when you get home.What a gift….!If it was in my power I would make everyone I know come and do this.Do not deny yourself this wonderful experience.It’s also a beautiful part of the world to spend some time in.

Amazing retreat. 5/6 days fasting, with juices and supplements, (optional colonics), wonderful gentle yoga, group meditations, top notch treatments with lots of loving guidance and care from Shoshana who is a ball of bright powerful energy and full of knowledge, kindness and wisdom. The experience is a bit of a rollercoaster working through physical and emotional feelings - but well worth the journey. You can engage as much or as little with all the group activities but there is plenty of space to do your own thing. This is not a luxury retreat - the venue is nice with a pool and sauna, but could do with an update in some areas. All the team and staff are super friendly and helpful however, so not a big distraction. Can’t recommend highly enough. What a fantastic, healthy way to start the year! And it’s all in a beautiful Devon location x

I am a GP, so have a conventional medical training. My first detox, a few years ago and elsewhere, gave me insight into the fact there is so much more than well known science, all who are willing to open their minds would gain value from a week away, not just to learn something new but to look after themselves.What Karuna gave me (as well as amazing weight loss) was a strong interest how important it is to look after our bodies through what we eat.Thanks Shoshana

I came away and shared such a special time with my sister on our retreat at Karuna. Sho runs the retreat, and is so warm, caring and full of fun she really creates a lovely nurturing positive atmosphere. As a Christian I did wonder if I would struggle with a potential spiritual vibe contrary to my own. But Sho’s attitude is “I am me and you can be you”, so I felt free to be me and slightly reinterpret some of her phrases to be at peace in my own heart before God. I found this a really relaxing time in a beautiful peaceful place. Sho shares so openly about her own journey in life and about the science behind food and the colon that you can not come away without learning something you want to take forward. The therapist giving us treatments were fantastic and also very gentle and kind, as a busy mum of 4 kids I feel I’ve been so spoilt and relaxed more than I have in a long time. One warning: fasting for 5 days is challenging at times, but I would have not missed this experience for the world.

I think it was my 5th visit to Karuna, 2nd time in the Summer and it was glorious! Above all - the surroundings, the pristine accommodation, the yoga, the delightful walks, the meditations, the talks, making new friends - my blood pressure went down from 147/93 to 120/80 and I lost 9lbs, Result! Cannot recommend highly enough

The Karuna Detox Retreat was all that I had hoped for and more. Everything was perfect even down to the duration. It’s not easy for anyone to leave their comfort zone and try something new, but because of the attention to every detail, the personal support, the focus of care, the experience, knowledgeability, love and generosity of Shoshana the service giver, plus the quality accommodations and beautiful environment, this retreat was a very effective pleasure and a lot of fun. Hi I’ve just had the most amazing week at Kuruna Detox and feel thoroughly cleansed inside and out! It’s not just about weight loss though as it has really shifted my mindset about what junk I have been putting into my body and how I only want to add goodness from now on! The holistic massage and shiatsu massage were just amazing and I loved my yoga sessions every morning! Kathy made the most incredible juices and on our last day when we get to break our fast she prepared the most mouthwatering raw food meals I have ever tasted. This has been an incredible experience. I didn’t expect to walk away with such a different feeling toward food. I wasn’t Sure what to expect on this retreat but Sho more than delivered! I lost 8lb (and I’m not overweight) and had a truly peaceful week. Loved the yoga, meditation, country walks and juices. Vegan break fast was incredible! Be warned not eating food for 6 days is hard- but it’s worth it!

Amazing! I have been a few times and every time I get something different from having this space. It literally is my annual MOT for the body and mind ❤️ Some much needed time out. The team here are so warm, supportive and compassionate. Which ever one of Sho’s sessions you go for you won’t be disappointed. The treatments here are excellent, this time for me the Shiatsu with Mel was so good, so I had two, it was like she was telepathic and had such a lovely energy along with hitting the right spots. Emotionally and physically I lean something about myself, my past, my relationship with food and drink and this time ‘I Will’ make some life changes. Thank you Sho as always and your team… the Raw food on Thursday is worth the wait xx

This is such a fantastic retreat - Sho has a lot of really deep knowledge and created a really safe and compassionate environment for us all to detox at every level. I feel this retreat has been utterly transformative and has re-ignited my passion for food and health. The setting is gorgeous, lovely room, great juices and broth, fab treatments, all combined with so much education to take this lifestyle forward into my life. Definitely a life changing experience! The minute I got home from the Karuna Detox, I did not even unpack the car and immediately I started my laptop to book it again for next year. I had never done anything like this before and I was very apprehensive at the thought of the fast. Instead it turned into a totally magical experience. Shoshana is incredibly inspiring, and managed to turn a week of fasting into an amazing experience. If you want an injection of wellbeing into your life, Karuna Detox is the answer!

It was my first time at Karuna and I was not disappointed. The detox, was well thought out and presented in a timely way so we weren’t hungry. I suffer with some disabilities so I couldn’t experience the walks around the beautify countryside like some of the others, but the view from my cottage was there in front of me to bask in whenever I wanted to. My cottage was amazing, spacious and well equipped with more than we needed at hand. As someone who has attended serval detoxes aboard this one is well superior to many of them and on my door step. The leaders were highly experiences in the knowledge they shared and made us all feel full in one way or another. If you want to reset I like did and relearn how to take care of your body I would highly recommend a stay there.Carol

I had the most amazing & life changing time. The care taken for social distancing and groups of 6 to comply with the pandemic rules were foremost of the whole retreat making us feel totally safe. Also a priority for Sho & Donna was for us to have an amazing week. We didCare, support, attention was priority and we felt cared for and held in mind. So much to do with yoga, meditation, nutritional talks, walks, swimming, colonics, treatments etc. When the day of ‘food’ arrived; it was astounding and the live food prep demonstration was inspiring. Learnt so much.My usual fibromyalgia pain & IBS disappeared for the week and I slept like a baby. I lost 7lbs, kept it off & have lost a further 4lbs. I have embraced taking care of food combining and am now practically vegan & feel so much better all round !!!I’ve already booked for 2021. The Karuna Detox retreats are organised with great skill and care. I had never before experienced detoxifying my digestive system and there are any number of opinions and stories out there about fasting and colonic irrigation that can be off-putting. I found the whole process gentle and manageable at my own pace, which sped up during the week. Sho's daily talks mean that beginners like me understand how our digestive systems work and what's going on. The benefits of raw food are explained but not preached and the experience of Donna's raw food at the end of the week was a revelation. When I booked I was looking for a holiday from everything including my usual eating habits and I wasn't disappointed.

I discovered Karuna 15 years ago and am very pleased it popped back into my mind and I was able to go this October. Sho and Donna pulled off an amazing retreat in such crazy, cautious times. It all felt very natural and incredibly well organised for their first time running within such strict guidelines. We were able to do all of the classes (yoga, nutritional talks, check ins) from the comfort of our cottages on Zoom, which was great. My body and mind were well detoxed and it felt like an amazingly, nurturing bubble, re-educating us about our bodies, how they work and how food effects us. During the week we had lovely juices and broths made for us by Donna and then she fed us scrumptious food and did food demos. The group dynamics were really good too and everyone seemed supportive and full of encouragement and laughter. I highly recommend Karuna and all of the love, kindness, support and professionalism they provide to one and all. Well done Sho & Donna! Everyone should experience this. :o)

Karuna Detox and fast retreat has helped me to change my habits and lifestyle - for the better! The first 3 days of the retreat were challenging, with headaches and body aches. If I'd prepared for two weeks beforehand and stopped the caffeine and alcohol, it would have been much easier. the coffee detox headaches were - uncomfortable. But supported by a great group of people, everyone going through the same process, and with Sho's guidance and Donna's smile, it was do-able. by the fourth day I was feeling lighter and the headache had gone and the fifth day - I felt fantastic! I woke up, without any stress in my body, no aches in my neck and shoulder that I've tolerated for - years! I felt the best Ive have felt in 20 years. No exaggeration. I was at the retreat to build my immune system, cells rejuvenate during fasting, and work towards a healthier body. I did also drop 2.5 kilos, but that was not the reason for going through the process. returning home, I have not had a desire for coffee, wine or sugars. I'm making green smoothies, fresh soups and keeping my diet as raw and was fresh as I can. drinking water, lots of fibre and - I sleep so well. Thank you Sho and Donna. And amazingly making me laugh...alot... ...Real & Human Medicine soooo Feeling Truly Grateful Today 💓 Its a Step forward 😊This was the first Covid Managed Retreat. Social distancing, bubble groups, staggered juicing and zoom for all classes and talks. So well managed and all rules and requirements well respected. In such a challenging time it was a real blessing to be at a retreat ! Very well done Karuna Team on keeping all safely within guidlines. And it still felt fluid not awkward. Yoga with Sho on zoom has been awesome!!!It is a beautiful nourishing and safe space!Since starting with this group a few months ago I have come back in touch with a much deeper level of my body wisdom.I can always feel that peaceful place inside even with all the crazy that’s going on!My body is thanking meI am receiving more insightsIt’s a safe place to be vulnerable.A loving and accepting space To show up in whatever way it happens to for us that morning! This is my second visit to Karuna Detox and I just have to share my incredible epiphany moment. In trying to physically release, I asked myself to let go of the 'Old' Inner Me to allow space for the 'New' Inner Me. And what a release it was! I feel light headed, happy, content, at peace, energized, focused and excited all a the same time.I have been on many detoxes over the years; all over the world, and I would not contemplate going anywhere else now. Karuna is without question the best. If you are considering a detox Sho and her Team at Karuna will guide and support every moment of your journey.

Be careful - you may leave this place changed in a way that will transform your life completely :). No seriously, I have tried many many things over the past 8 years and nothing had helped me with my condition (leaky gut, food intolerances, IBS). At Karuna detox, they tailored the fast to my needs (I had bone broth and some juices) and felt in bliss up from day 2. It was just such an amzing experience of healing and I felt incredibly supported and hold by Sho and her wonderful team. Sho is an a amazing person, yoga teacher, friend! She tunes into people that come and really tailors the fast individually. Everyone who works there as well as the place itself not even talking about the great therapies on offer, will facilitate your heaing. If you are looking for a UK-based detox, juicing fast - look no further. The health benefits from a stay at Karuna are totally amazing but it's so much more than that. Sho and her team have created a very special, compassionate space where everyone is able to heal body, mind and spirit. I went in 2018 and it totally transformed my life and approach to food. I returned this year with my husband, who has some serious health concerns - both of us had an incredible stay and have left feeling utterly rested and ready for a healthier life with the knowledge and tools provided by the Karuna team. Also - our group were diverse and very lovely people and we've now all connected IRL to continue to provide support for each other.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Karuna. Learnt a lot, laughed a lot, lost a lot (weight) and met some really great people. Sho and the team were totally committed and supportive of all of us with our own different needs and paths. All of the the therapists were brilliant. March 2019 will be remembered as the big spring clean. Internal. This was my third visit and did not disappoint. A safe, warm, friendly and welcoming environment for me to detox at my own pace in a non judgemental supportive way.Amazing and informative daily nutrition talks. healing therapies with the most badass therapists.colonics.... if you wish....lessons and support on how to maintain..I will not leave it so long before my next visit.arms of love and gratitdue to Sho, Paul, Donna, Lisa and team for a wonderful time. This was my first detox and wow what an amazing experience this was! There is not one negative thing to say and met all my needs. Sho and her team are so knowledgeable and caring and you are looked after the minute you arrive until the time to go home, you feel safe and comfortable. The accommodation is clean and spacious cottages with log fires set in beautiful country sidyye. The therapists are all wonderful and you feel blessed to receive these treatments with their healing hands. Sho is amazing and supportive, her talks are informative and inspiring and yoga and meditation are wonderful. Donna provided fabulous healthy food and the workshops were helpful and informative with many recipes to hand. I have met a wonderful group of people who made my experience so worthwhile. Everyone supported each other and friendships made.I came with anticipation but left with optimism and knowledge to make positive changes.Thank you so much...I will be back!

I simply cannot say enough good things about Karuna Detox Retreat. I returned a little concerned that it couldn't be as good as the first time I was here last year, which was an amazing experience. I was wrong. This detox surpassed all my expectations. It was absolutely life changing.The yoga and meditation with Sho is special for me. It was after leaving here last year I got serious about yoga. Coming back and practicing with Sho nourishes me. I brought some really difficult emotional baggage with me this year and I am leaving without it! I am also leaving half a stone lighter.It may seem like a big financial commitment but for me it is not a luxury it is a basic investment in my health, my emotional wellbeing and my spirit. I actually don't think I can afford not to come back again.

I've just had an amazing week... deep clean for body, mind and spirit. Sho and her team are deeply compassionate and knowledgeable. They gently support and encourage the group through individual journeys and the transformations are powerful. Sho holds and contains the group so it feels very safe to talk and share experiences, whilst no pressure to say or do anything. The people who go to Karuna are always fantastic... we laughed joyously and took the "Adventures of Poo" to another level. Lots to do... meditation, yoga, massage, walking in beautiful countryside. I have been on several detox retreats over the years, mainly in Thailand, so I knew what to expect. But I can honestly say Karuna Detox surpassed all my assumptions was without doubt the most comprehensive retreat I have ever done. Shoshana's knowledge and guidance was a revelation. She creates a non-judgement atmosphere to allow space for the body and mind to fully relax (or as she would say 'soften'). This in turn results in a both physical and emotional release. I found myself crying for no apparent reason and the next minute having so much energy I thought I would burst!The programme Sho has designed takes guests on a journey to understand what is happening within the body. Her daily talks on nutrition are informative and witty, and her encouragement and support, both individually and for the group is worth every penny. With the help and guidance from Sho and her Team i made some life changing decisions and am excited to move forward with my life. It has been years since I've felt this happy, energised and positive for the future.I cannot recommend Karuna Detox enough. So long Thailand, hello Devon! I have never done a detox retreat before so was a little worried about what to expect. My husband came too, and we resolved to loose weight and get healthier. It was a very intense experience which varied from being brutal to being joyous. The feeling once finished is absolutely amazing and has given us the determination to continue eating in a cleaner way! So far, so good!Sho and her team are fabulous; lots of guidance and encouragement throughout, all done in a highly professional manner. The treatments on offer are wonderful with brilliant therapists. The preparation to be let into the Big Wide World again was amazing, with a full day of delicious raw food and cookery demos, lead by the beautiful and serene Donna.Th cottages are set in stunning Devon countryside which would be a joy in the summer - but even our snowed in situation in March had plenty of beauty, if a little challenging!Highly recommend.

This was a truly outstanding detox retreat. It's my 5th program and was by far the most effective and spiritual experience i've had. Prior to this my most effective program was Tony Robbins Life Mastery. However, Sho, the Karuna team and you create a fully tailored experience, in an idyllic part of Devon that will suit everyone. I came to take my health to a new level and have some time for me. Simply, that was achieved by day 3. On top of that i had a huge emotional detox and achieved a huge sense of balance and learnt from both Sho and many of the participants. Even my physical alignment has improved. I'm at peace with where i am in life and am already more effective now i'm back in my normal life & work. I'm calmer, more alert, stronger and very perceptive.On top of all that is the wonderful ways we were introduced to sustaining the detox going forward. I usually complete program like this, with a nagging doubt that i'll be able to take it home. But this program has left me armed with the emotional strength, as well as how to do it.Thank you to all of the team for such a memorable retreat. I loved the farmhouse setting in rolling hills, with Spring water, the lovely attitude of guests and staff alike, creating a supportive community feel and steady daily rhythm, with space to listen within, enjoy your time and the beautiful surrounds as you wish. Such a wonderful, thoughtful set-up to encourage deep rest, repair, awareness healing...A lovely mix of couples and singles came, creating a fantastic level of authentic sharing blended with respect for privacy. Sho's passionate, sometimes pretty earthy inputs encouraged us to be very grounded in our awareness of our bodies and how we nourish ourselves, both physically and in other ways... The yoga classes and supportive therapies are of highest sensitivity, which supports integration during a meaningful detox. ...A priceless gift for life and well-being! I recommend whole-heartedly!

The real deal within detoxing, felt safe and guided throughout my retreat. All staff are professional, caring and supportive. The fifth time I've fasted with Karuna and will most definitely be returning.
