Thank you so much to Sho, Jo and Ines for an enlightening week. It was my first detox so it was a rollercoaster of emotions and, although I find it incredibly tough at times, Sho and Jo had thought of everything and were very supportive. They gently guide everyone through the process.The juices were great and were lovingly prepared by the wonderful Iness. Iness also led fantastic food demo on the last day which has inspired me to try to make some new, healthier things !The treatments were a fantastic addition to the week. It's been quite a ride! Many thanks to Sho for putting together an enriching and inspired seven day detox programme. Her deep knowledge of how to support and nourish our bodies and minds and willingness to share her own experience was as impressive as it was motivating. In between the delicious juices and broths prepared by their specialist chef Ines there is plenty of time to enjoy a myriad of treatments including shiatsu, lymph drainage, targeted acupuncture and Swedish massage. And also to rest. A big thank you also to Jo for sharing her wealth of knowledge around food and nutrition as well as keeping us all centred and engaged. The Karuna Detox is an amazing experience. From the moment you arrive and welcomed by Sho and her team you feel completely cosseted and cared for. The 5 day detox can either be with juices or, for a deeper detox, just water. Each day there are yoga sessions, meditation, massages, shiatu, all there to support you through your journey. Sho also does nutritional talks which are great. Whilst the first couple of days are tough due to withdrawal symptoms the rest of it is fairly easy. There is also a pool and sauna to chill out in. This is my 3rd one and I thoroughly enjoy them. I can’t recommend Sho and Jo and the rest of the team enough, they create an enjoyable and life changing experience. Give it a go!

Wow! What an amazingly transformative experience! The programme is so well-structured and all-encompassing of mind and body, with daily yoga and meditation, a broad range of massage/treatments and invaluable nutrition sessions. There is plenty of time to read, reflect on life, to take walks in the beautiful Devonshire country-side or just merely rest. All the while supported with great care by the Karuna Detox Team. There are less than a handful of individuals who I have met that transmit and vibrate authenticity. Shoshana is one of them. She speaks from experience rather than from books or research. She shares abundantly in a way that may seem effortlessly and that no preparation is involved, but this is clearly not the case - it is backed up by many years of research, study, investigation, fact-finding and real life experience. All of this results in her connectedness with true nature. This for me hasn't just been a juice detox, it has been a detox of beliefs of the mind and most importantly a reconnection with my body. My first ever Detox experience, and it exceeded all my expectations. Although at first I was anxious about what the week would bring, I was instantly put at ease by Sho, Jo and her team. It’s not just a weight loss detox, (I lost a whole stone!) it’s much more than that. As cliched as it sounds, it really was a Journey of self reflection and understanding where I was in my life. The daily Yoga and Meditation sessions were great, as were the treatments in the week. Juices prepared daily by Bex tasted great, and the meal breaking the fast at the end of the week was delicious! I booked a week juice/water fast to lose a few pounds and prove I could last a week without alcohol. What I actually experienced was a total body and mind workout and leave feeling full of optimism and energy. Positively a life changing retreat..I was struggling to get pregnant and needed to take a break from it all and do something different for myself. This detox programme was exactly what I needed. It wasn’t easy as the toxins started leaving my body (day 2 and 3) but Sho and team were very supportive and helped me through. It was so worth it. By the end of the programme I was renewed mentally, emotionally and physically. I returned home feeling amazing. A couple of months later I found out that I was pregnant with my first baby!

The venue works well. Our cottage was very clean, warm and well kept. My only advice is to take a mattress topper with you. A wonderful experience. People come here with a huge variety of questions, worries, wants and needs and somehow in the course of a week, with the help of Sho and one’s fellow travellers, some decisions are made, some foundations for future living are found, and you emerge with a sense of peace and energy and a new direction. For me the physical side of the experience was less profound than the emotional awakening, although no doubt the former enabled and sustained the latter. A great spirit of comraderie and support.
